Exploring landscapes often from a minimalist, abstract & often alien perspective.

"Deep in the park stands a deep still lake. The air feels almost unnerving in the total calmness. The reflections in the water suggest a mirror universe, something to slip into & get sucked into forever. " // I love to camp the interior of Algonquin Park & I didn't get to do that in 2020 for reasons we are all aware of. I have been missing the quiet, calm of the trees, the water & nature. I miss the sound of the loon calling, telling me I have arrived. When I am out in the park, I tend to commune with Tom Thompson - I put in at Canoe Lake often & canoe past the bustle & activity of the Lake, into something quieter, into the interior but not before I stop in on Tom's Totem & say hi - I imagine what it would have been like to carry heavy wooden easels & canvas along a portage & into my canoe to find a spot to paint. This photograph is one of my favorite to look back on when I am missing the park. It reminds me, just how encompassing the camping experience is. (near Burnt Island Lake).
